One Faith

Eph 4:1 I therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you that ye walk worthy of the vocation wherewith ye are called, Eph 4:2 With all lowliness and meekness, with longsuffering, forbearing one another in love; Eph 4:3 Endeavoring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. Eph 4:4 There is one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling; Eph 4:5 One Lord, one faith, one baptism, Eph 4:6 One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all.

Faith is a strong belief in God or in the doctrines of a religion, based on spiritual apprehension rather than proof. Paul says there is only one faith so, which faith is the true faith. Once a person is saved they are told to join a church whose beliefs are like their own. But, which church has the true faith?

1Co 1:12 Now this I say, that every one of you saith, I am of Paul; and I of Apollos; and I of Cephas; and I of Christ. 1Co 1:13 Is Christ divided? Was Paul crucified for you? Or were ye baptized in the name of Paul?

These two verses were for the early church but, are for us as well today. Some say I am of Paul, I os Apollos, I of Cephas, and I of Christ, Paul then asked is Christ Divided? Each of these men preached to the people. Now let’s apply these verses to the modern day. Some say I am a Catholic, I am a Baptist, I am a Pentecostal, and I am any other denomination and again you can ask the same question that Paul asked in the first century (Is Christ divided?). Again the answer to this question is no.

A Christian denomination is a distinct religious body within Christianity, identified by traits such as a name, organization, leadership and doctrine. Individual bodies, however, may use alternative terms to describe themselves, such as church or sometimes fellowship.

A doctrine is a belief or set of beliefs held and taught by a church. A doctrine is a belief or set of beliefs taught by a denomination so, the doctrine that a denomination preaches is their belief or faith. But, does that doctrine that is being taught in that denomination coincide with the Bible. If you are taught something that is 99% truth and 1% a lie then, they are teaching a lie. This goes for the denominations in the world.

Mat 7:13  Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: Mat 7:14  Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.

Each denomination in the world is a division of Christ and teaches its own faith or set of beliefs. Matthew 7:13 says for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction. When you are saved you are told to join a church that has a faith like your own because we are all going to the same place but, we are taking different paths to get to the same place. Would this be finding a wide gate at the end of a wide path?

But in Matthew 7:14, it says that strait is the gate and narrow is the way that leads to life and there will be few that find it. Where can I find this strait gate and narrow path that leads to life? The answer is the Bible. We must study the bible. 2Ti 2:15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

2Jn 1:6 And this is love, that we walk after his commandments. This is the commandment, That, as ye have heard from the beginning, ye should walk in it. 2Jn 1:7 For many deceivers are entered into the world, who confess not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh. This is a deceiver and an antichrist. 2Jn 1:8 Look to yourselves, that we lose not those things which we have wrought, but that we receive a full reward. 2Jn 1:9 whosoever transgresseth, and abideth not in the doctrine of Christ, hath not God. He that abideth in the doctrine of Christ, he hath both the Father and the Son. 2Jn 1:10 If there come any unto you, and bring not this doctrine, receive him not into your house, neither bid him God speed: 2Jn 1:11 For he that biddeth him God speed is partaker of his evil deeds.

Whoever goes beyond a moral principle or standard and does not remain in the doctrine or teachings of Christ has not God. He the remains in the doctrine of Christ has both the father and the son. If anyone teaches you a doctrine other than the doctrine of Christ do not believe his teachings of his doctrine. If you biddeth  him God speed, you share in his evil work.

To Summarize:

There is only one true Faith. That faith is a set of beliefs or doctrine in Christ. This doctrine of Christ is not divided. The path is straight and narrow and only few will find it. That path is in the Bible and we must study the bible to find that path so we will find the narrow gate at the end of that path. We are given a warning of deceivers in the world that are bringing damnable heresies or teachings that we that we must not believe.  With this last part about deceivers all I ask is that you do not believe me but study the bible to see if what I am say is true or not.
